Supplier Diversity

NEPM is committed to creating mutually beneficial business relationships with diverse suppliers that strengthen the communities in which we operate. We are committed to developing relationships with small, minority-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged/disabled, veteran owned and LGBTQA business enterprises. The primary goal of NEPM Supplier Diversity Program is to provide opportunities to diverse suppliers that satisfy our product and service requirements. Secondarily, it supports our customers in achieving their own corporate diversity goals.

NEPM’s sourcing team is encouraged to identify and include diverse suppliers and service providers that demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality goods and services that are competitively priced and reliable. The policy reflects NEPM’s desire to create opportunity for suppliers to market their products and services to NEPM and to encourage NEPM’s sales team to offer opportunities to such suppliers.

Responsibilities

Our Vendor Relationship Manager will identify and encourage departments to explore opportunities to identify small, minority-owned, women-owned, disadvantaged/disabled, veteran owned and LGBTQA business enterprises to compete for business and from whom to obtain goods and services whenever possible.

Procedures

The Vendor Relationship Manager will participate in initiatives to maintain awareness of resources and encourage diversity suppliers to meet with NEPM Sales Staff to review product/service specifications, and review supplier qualifications including licenses, certification, and insurance requirements as appropriate.

Objectives

• Actively seek out certified diverse suppliers that can provide competitive, high-quality goods and services whose business model is aligned with our business strategy.

• Ensure the inclusion of diverse suppliers as a part of our strategic sourcing and procurement processes.

• Communicate the value of supplier diversity both internally and externally to all stakeholders.

• Leverage our supplier diversity results to meet our corporate customers’ supplier diversity requirements.

NEPM’s Supplier Diversity Program aims to achieve corporate diversity goals and enable the growth of diverse businesses. We strive to create vendor– buyer relationships that foster development of diverse organizations, while allowing NEPM to offer quality products at competitive prices.
